The journey

Time of Legends is a six-day guided hut-to-hut trek through the southern Icelandic highlands, starting among the rhyolite rainbow mountains of Landmannalaugar.

The route follows the quieter paths by Sveinstindur and Strútur, past the great Eldgjá fissure and beneath Törfajökull, with full board and baggage transport so you can walk light. Running from 2027.

THE TRAIL

Day by day

  1. Day 1 — Landmannalaugar

    Start among the rhyolite rainbow mountains of Landmannalaugar.

  2. Day 2 — Sveinstindur

    Quiet paths towards Sveinstindur.

  3. Day 3 — Eldgjá

    The great Eldgjá volcanic fissure.

  4. Day 4 — Törfajökull

    Beneath the Törfajökull massif.

  5. Day 5 — Strútur

    On to Strútur through the highland stillness.

  6. Day 6 — Return

    The final walk out and the journey home.

You're in certified, careful hands.

Every Soulhike is led by Elsebeth Molberg Thing — a certified Wilderness First Responder (NOLS Wilderness Medicine) and a warden on the Fimmvörðuháls trail. On the highland hikes we walk with two guides carrying satellite-connected radios and a direct line to Björgunarsveitin (Iceland's volunteer search & rescue), so you can safely let go and be present.
